‘Sharing Festive Joy With The Specially Abled,’ On World Food Day

Kolkata: Swarnym Foundation, in association with Press Club Kolkata on Friday, undertook a programme named ‘Sharing Festive Joy with the Specially Abled’ on the occasion of World Food Day.

The event was held with support of three other NGOs – Jugalbandi, Educare Sanjeevani Relief Trust and Manav Seva.

“It can be taken as coincidence as today it was Amavasya, Adhikmas and also World Food Day, all three special occasion in one day,” said Ajit Verma, the chairman of Swarnym Foundation.

“We have distributed food packets containing around 18 items to all blind people,” said Verma while taking to The Lateralz.

Among the 18 items, there were 1 kg each of dal, oil, sugar, flattened rice. Other items were banana, bread, soyabean coconut oil, biscuits and etc.
