Mumbai: The Income- Tax department on Saturday disclosed that actor Sonu Sood and his associates had allegedly indulged in tax evasion worth over Rs 20 crore.
The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) added that during searches on the premises of the actor and his associates, “incriminating evidence related to tax evasion was found.”
“During the course of search at the premises of the actor and his associates, incriminating evidence pertaining to tax evasion found. The main modus operandi followed by the actor had been to route his unaccounted income in form of bogus unsecured loans from many bogus entities.”
The department searched 28 premises in Mumbai, Lucknow, Kanpur, Jaipur, Delhi, Gurugram of Sonu in Mumbai and also a Lucknow-based industrial house.
