Kolkata: Legendary actor and Dada Saheb Phalke winner Soumitra Chatterjee’s health conditions have deteriorated and has been put on BiPap ventilation, as per the latest reports.
The 85-year-old actor was tested positive for COVID-19 on October 6, after that he has been admitted to Bellevue Nursing Home in Kolkata since then, under expert care. However, his health conditions have deteriorated remarkably.
After his Covid-19 report came back positive, Chatterjee’s daughter Poulami Bose had said, “He is stable. He had a fever in the last few days. We wanted to admit him as a precautionary measure since he has multiple comorbidities”.
On October 9, he was moved to the ITU and put on oxygen support after his health worsened.
A three-member medical team was set up to ensure he was given the utmost care as the Padma Bhushan awardee is a patient of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) also.
A few days ago, Soumitra Chatterjee had resumed shooting before the deadly virus attacked him.
