New Delhi: Popular Afghan pop star Aryana Sayeed in an interview with ANI has lashed out at Pakistan for its committed support to the Taliban and appealed to the global community to impose sanctions on the rogue country. Aryana also criticised former Afghan President Ashraf Ghani for leaving the country at the mercy of the brutal Taliban and Pakistan.
“I blame Pakistan. Over the years, we’ve seen videos & evidence that Pak is behind empowering Taliban. Every time our govetnment would catch a Talib, they’d see identification & it’d be a Pakistani, it’s very obvious that it’s them,” she says adding, “They’re (Taliban) being instructed by Pakistan, their bases are in Pakistan where they get trained. I hope international community, first of all, cut their funds and don’t give funds to Pakistan so that they don’t have enough money to fund Taliban.”
On Ghani’s cowardice, she says, “I’m truly disappointed with the President (Ashraf Ghani), the way he left Afghanistan in hands of a bunch of Pakistanis. He let down our people, our country, our armed forces, military. How could we fight without any leaders?”
Aryana who is currently in Qatar has immense gratitude for the Indian government for coming to the rescue of her stranded fellow Afghans. “India has always been good to us. They’ve been a true friend, they’ve been very helpful & kind to our people who were refugees in India. Every Afghan that I’ve met in my life that was in India before, has spoken very good about Indian people. We’re grateful,” Aryana who is worried about the plight of Afghan women, points out.
On the international community’s apathy towards Afghanistan, she elaborates, “I’m really disappointed, to begin with. I’m disappointed that they left Afghanistan alone just like that & Taliban took over entire Afghanistan within a span of few days, it’s unbelievable to me.”
Aryana continues to be caustic on her Pakistan bashing and appeals to world leaders to rein the country in. “I hope they can sit down & find a solution to bring peace to Afghanistan. I hope they can put pressure on Pakistan, I believe that we’re dealing with all these major issues in Afghanistan because of Pakistan, by now we all know Taliban are being funded by Pakistan.”
