Mumbai: Siddharth Pithani, Sushant Singh Rajput’s flat mate, may turn a witness in the actor’s death probe, according to top sources. He may record a statement with the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) under Section 164.
Pithani had been one of the people present in the house where Sushant Singh Rajput had allegedly committed suicide on June 14.
Pithani had been the only one to give information of the arrival of ‘outsiders’ at the residence on June 13, a day before he died.
He claimed that Sushant had fainted after hearing the news of Disha Salian’s death, few days before his death. After coming to senses, he stated ‘I will be killed’ and seeked protection.
With girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty also leaving the house with Sushant’s laptop and other devices, he had been worried, said Pithani in his statement to CBI.
The other people who were present in the house on June 14 were his staff Dipesh Sawant and cook Neeraj Singh.
Dipesh has been arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), along with Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik Chakraborty, and staff Samuel Miranda for their involvement in the drug nexus.
Meanwhile, a team of doctors from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) had submitted its forensic report of Sushant case to CBI.
CBI released a statement, amid impatient fans demanding ‘justice’, that a ‘systematic’ investigation was carried out and no angles had been left out.
