Islamabad: Former Pakistani cricket captain Shahid Afridi has minced no words while expressing his loyalty to the Taliban insurgency in Afghanistan, according to ANI.
Afridi while endorsing his Prime Minister Imran Khan’s view on the Taliban in a video, said the extremist group “has come with a positive mind to power.”
The video was tweeted by Pakistani journalist Naila Inayat. “No doubt Taliban have come. But, they have come with a very positive mind. They’re allowing ladies to work. They are allowing them to participate in politics. They are supporting cricket…And I believe the Taliban like cricket a lot,” Afridi was seen telling the media.

It’s no surprise that Afridi has thrown his weight behind the Taliban who are all set to form a Council to run the country. The Pakistan PM had earlier exhorted the Taliban stating that the Afghans have broken the shackles of slavery. His foreign minister does door-to-door canvassing to garner international recognition for the Taliban. Despicable, to say the least!
Now, what opinion can you hold of a country that shelters proscribed terrorists and provides them with all opportunities to fan disturbances on foreign soil? Shame, shame!
