Kolkata: There’s some good news for India as wrestler Ravi Kumar Dahiya has ignited hopes for a gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics.
Out of the two wrestlers grappling for a berth in the finals today, Ravi brings some joy to us as he assures atleast a silver in the 57 kg category. Deepak Punia on the other hand, snatched defeat from the jaws of victory against US wrestler D.M Taylor Iii, but raised hope for a bronze though.
Ravi made it to the finals following his win over Kazakhstan’s Nurislam Sanayev. The Asian Champion pinned his opponent via technical superiority.
Meanwhile, the women’s hockey team crashed out of the race to the gold losing to Argentina 1-2 but as we are won’t to, a bronze still beckons which could add to our tally of glories at the ongoing Olympics.
Let’s hope for the best.
