Trinamool Sports Cell Felicitates Parents Of Bengal Olympic Participants

Kolkata: The All-India Trinamool Congress Sports Cell felicitated the parents of three sportspersons from the state — who will participate in the Tokyo Olympics — at the Press Club, Kolkata on Thursday afternoon.

The three Olympians are archer Atanu Das, gymnast Pranati Nayak and paddler Sutirtha Mukherjee whose parents were feted.

“It’s an honour to felicitate the proud parents on the eve of the Tokyo Olympics. We wish them luck and hope they bring medals for the country. It will encourage our athletes in the mega show,” Trinamool Congress Sports Cell chief Babun Banerjee said.

The programme was attended by former sportspersons and administrators like footballers Debjit Ghosh, Mehtab Hossain, cricketer Shib Sankar Paul, former footballer and current MLA Bidesh Basu and several others.
