Washington: The White House on Friday said that President Donald Trump is experiencing “mild symptoms” of COVID-19 after revealing that he and his wife had tested positive.
Two people familiar with his condition told the reporters that they have cold-like symptoms, while another said that Trump seemed “lethargic” at his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, which was attended by about 100 people.
Health officials have raised concerns that the President’s age, weight and other health conditions could increase his chances of experiencing serious illness from the virus.
Vice President Mike Pence says he and his wife, Karen, are sending their “love and prayers” to Trump and the First Lady. Pence and his wife have both since tested negative for the virus.
If Trump could no longer continue with his duties, Pence would serve as acting president.
