New York: The UFC’s welterweight’s fight between Max Griffin and Ramiz Brahimaj had left fans enthralled till the end. The match ended after a nasty cut slit open Ramiz’s ear and left behind a gruesome scene.
The split caused Ramiz’s ear to rip off and it was hanging out on towards left side. The referee incharge of the match didn’t allow to continue the fight.
In the beginning, the Fortis MMA stand-out emerged as the favourite, but he wasn’t able to keep up with Griffin’s pace. Max had a clear-cut advantage to win after the fight entered the close range.
MMA experts and fans believed that Ramiz could have won the match through leg kicks and effective distance management. However, due to the injury, he lost the opportunity to launch a comeback.
The 16-8 fighter in Griffin had broken a two-fight skid when he ultimately managed to beat Ramiz Brahimaj. The win was considered critical from the stand-point of divisional rankings as he aims to break through the top 15.
The injury which Brahimaj suffered came after a round that he lost on the scorecards. He was transcended in the second-round as Max managed to finish off strong, unofficially landing 43 strikes. This increase in the volume can be considered as a deciding factor.
Although, Ramiz has now lost his UFC debut and he will have to go back to the drawing board, but the potential which he has shown can take him for a long way in the UFC.
