New Delhi: UP Policemen took into custody ABP News reporter and cameraperson for reporting on the terrifying gangrape, death and forceful cremation of a 19 year old dalit woman earlier this week.
ABP News’ Pratima Mishra along with cameraperson, Manoj Adhikari, was forcefully taken into a Police vehicle while trying to meet the victim’s family, misbehaved with them and and asked not to report about the incident.
While attempting to enter Hathras, a delegation of Trinamool MPs were stopped by UP Police.
Trinamool leaders including Derek O’Brien, Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, Pratima Mondal and Mamata Thakur were a part of the delegation.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and other senior leaders left Delhi to meet the family of the Hathras rape victim.
However, after their vehicle was stopped near the Yamuna Expressway, they began foot-marching towards Hathras.
Before his arrest, the Congress leaders were involved in arguments with police and asked them on what grounds they were being arrested.
Gandhi was pushed to the ground and received injuries on his hand.
The 19 year old dalit woman was raped by four upper caste men in Hathras.
Initially she was taken to Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital in Aligarh, but had to be shifted to the Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi on Monday night after her condition deteriorated.
