Hathras: Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra started a foot-march today on the highway between Delhi and Uttar Pradesh as their convoy was stopped on its way to Hathras to meet the family of the gang-rape victim who died on Tuesday.
Before the Congress leaders’ visit, the UP government put ban on large gatherings and put up barricades at the borders reasoning the coronavirus pandemic.
Though the Gandhis’ SUV crossed the border, their vehicle was stopped at Greater Noida, which is about 142 km to Hathras.
The Gandhis then got down the vehicle and started foot-marching along with Congress workers. They claimed that they were pushed, lathi charged on their way.

The young woman, 19, died on Tuesday at Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi.
She had succumbed to multiple fractures, paralysis and neck injury when she was sexually assaulted by four upper caste men on September 14.
