New Delhi: Wading into the Afghanistan turmoil since the Taliban takeover, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has emphasised the exigency of urgent humanitarian aid to the embattled country. Modi tweeted the pertinent points he raised during a virtual G20 summit on Tuesday.
“…called for urgent and unhindered humanitarian assistance to Afghan citizens and an inclusive administration,” Modi tweeted.
The Prime Minister also underscored the necessity of taking concrete steps to avert any untoward situation whereby the Afghan soil could be used as a haven for radicalisation and terrorism. “Stressed on preventing Afghan territory from becoming the source of radicalisation and terrorism,” he wrote.
A unified international response based on UNSC Resolution 2593 is necessary to improve the situation in Afghanistan, the PM elaborated.
