New Delhi: Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) chief Rakesh Tikait on Sunday, lambasted the BJP-led Central and Haryana governments for unleashing atrocities on protesting farmers at Karnal, referring to the police action as ‘Talibani.’
Equating them with the Taliban mindset, Tikait said to ANI, “The commander of the government of Taliban is present in the country. These commanders have to be identified. There is the commander who gave the order to break the head.”
Cops have drawn ire for lathi-charging protesting farmers for allegedly bringing traffic to a halt while were on their way to Karnal where a BJP meeting was being held on Saturday. Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar and other senior party leaders were attending the meet.
Around 10 farmers were reportedly injured though cops bring the numbers to 4 adding 10 policemen were also hurt in the pandemonium.
