Virat Kohli Steps Down As India Test Captain

Mumbai: Premier batter Virat Kohli stepped down as India’s Test captain on Saturday following a series defeat against South Africa a day earlier.

The batter took to social networking site Twitter and made the announcement. He took over the captaincy from Mahendra Singh Dhoni in the 2014/15 season. Kohli has 40 wins in 68 matches he led India, Kohli ended his captaincy stint as the most successful Indian Test skipper.

The former captain thanked the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), former head coach Ravi Shastri and Dhoni in a statement released on social media.
