Kolkata: In a bid to stymie the ruckus at the Vishva Bharati University, the Calcutta High Court on Friday, has instructed students not to hold any demonstration within 50 metre of the university and has also ordered the Santiniketan police to appoint three constables to beef up the security of the VC, according to ANI.
Students have been staging dharnas all over the university campus for quite some time and they also encircled the official residence of the VC Vidyut Chakraborty.
The HC stated, “No protests can be held within a 50-metre area of the University. No staff of Vishwa Bharati University can be prevented from entering.” The court also directed that all locks in the administrative building should be opened including that of Chakraborty’s residence and CCTV cameras should be immediately installed.
The High Court also instructed the Santiniketan police to submit a report.
