Washington: Slammed for his decision to withdraw troops from the strife-torn Afghanistan, US President has come down heavily on the perpetrators (ISIS-K) of the twin explosions outside the Kabul Airport on Thursday and stated he had instructed Pentagon to strike back.
“I bear responsibility for, fundamentally, all that’s happened of late, you know as well as I do that the former President (Donald Trump) made a deal with the Taliban.”
Elaborating on his retaliation plan, Biden added, “If they need additional force, I will grant it. We will not forgive. We’ll not forget. We will hunt you down and make you pay.”
Biden who held the ISIS-K responsible for the Kabul blasts added the evacuation mission would continue come what may, “We’ll rescue the American citizens from Afghanistan. We’ll get our Afghan allies out and our mission will go on.”
However, Biden denied any connivance between ISIS and the Taliban behind the brutal attack. “There is no evidence of collusion between Taliban and Islamic State in attacks at Kabul airport so far,” he informed.
Two ISIS suicide bombers wreaked havoc outside the airport of the Afghan capital killing more than 60 and injuring around 140 people on Thursday. According to reports, 12 US Servicemen also died in the heinous assault with 15 seriously injured.
Paying tribute to the deceased, Biden said they were the country’s heroes who “were engaged in a dangerous selfless mission.”
