New Delhi: India recorded over 74,442 Covid-19 cases and 903 deaths due to the deadly virus on Monday which shot the tally and death toll to 6,623,815 and 102,685 respectively, according to the Union health ministry.
The active cases now stand at 934,427 whereas nearly 5.58 million people have recovered so far and the overall recovery rate is positioned at 84.13%.
Union health minister, Harsh Vardhan, said that the Indian government is planning to receive and utilize 400-500 million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine by July 2021.
The vaccine are to be distributed on pre-decided priority and in a systematic manner and will be controlled to avoid any black marketing.
However, the total Covid-19 tally crossed 35 million globally, with United States, Brazil and India being the worst-hit countries.
United States’ Covid-19 tally has crossed over 7.6 million which includes 2,576,295 active cases, nearly 4.9 million recoveries and 214,610 succumbed to death.
