Pithoragarh: A Lucknow woman, who has been residing illegally in Nabhidhang restricted area close to the Indo-China border, has refused to leave the place. She claimed that she is an incarnation of Goddess Parvati and will marry Lord Shiva who resides on Mount Kailash, reported news agency PTI.
A police team had gone to remove Harminder Kaur from the restricted area but had to come back disappointed as she threatened to commit suicide in case they insisted on taking her away, according to Pithoragarh SP Lokendra Singh.
“However, we have decided to send a bigger team to bring her down forcibly to Dharchula,” Singh was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.
“The woman, a resident of Aliganj locality in Uttar Pradesh, had gone to Gunji with her mother on 15 days’ permission issued by SDM Dharchula, but refused to leave the restricted area even after her permission expired on May 25,” the SP added.
