Jaipur: Controversies and politicians go hand in hand. Now, Rajasthan Education minister GS Dotasara has stoked a row by stating female staff fight among themselves which is why policies introduced for their benefit come a cropper.
Speaking at an event Dotasara sparked a controversy by taking jibes at women unity. “Govt introduced policy for women. They’re given priority. But female staff have conflicts among themselves. Where there’s female staff, either Principal or teachers take ‘Saridon’. If they overcome this, they’ll be ahead of men,” Dotasra added much to the delight of others present as quoted by ANI.
The view comes from a Congress minister who is himself led by a woman (Sonia Gandhi as the interim party chief). And add to it, the party’s new-found messiah in another woman Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to boost up its sagging morale in the all-important state of Uttar Pradesh which is due to hit the polls next year. Does Dotasara’s controversial observation merit a reprimand from the High Command?
Now, searching for logic behind lawmakers’ statements is a futile exercise but it is left to the conscience of such responsible citizens holding positions of power not to let words ignite a fire that could have serious ramifications. And to top it, what kind of example do they set irrespective of party colours?
Time to ponder!
