New Delhi: Rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh on Friday appeared in the Tis Hazari court for the first time along with his lawyer in the domestic violence case filed by his wife Shalini Talwar. Shalini has also claimed an alimony of Rs 20 crore.
As per reports, Metropolitan Magistrate Tania Singh spoke to both Singh and Shalini inside her chamber. The case has been listed for September 28.
Singh had earlier missed the previous hearing which earned him an admonishment from the court. Shalini has also accused him of having multiple sexual affairs and expressed her grief to Tania Singh, saying that even though she stayed by her husband’s side through thick and thin, he deserted her. The rapper was also ordered by the court to submit his medical records and income tax reports.
Refuting his wife’s allegations, Singh had released a statement stating, “I am deeply pained and distressed by the false and malicious allegations levied against me and my family by my companion/wife of 20 years, Mrs. Shalini Talwar. The allegations are severely odious.I have been associated with the industry for over 15 years and worked with artists and musicians across the country. Everyone is aware of my relationship with my wife, who has been an integral part of my crew for more than a decade now and always accompanied me to my shoots, events, and meetings. I strongly refute all the allegations but will not comment any further because the matter is sub-judice before the Court of Law. I have full faith in the judicial system of this country, and I am confident that the truth will be out soon.”
