Chandigarh: Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh was arrested in Haryana’s Hisar for his alleged casteist remarks against cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal in a live chat with Team India limited-overs vice- captain Rohit Sharma. However, he was immediately granted bail.
A case has been registered against Yuvraj in Hansi city police station. However, Yuvraj was granted bail and released on the orders of the High Court.
Yuvraj reached Hisar with his lawyers to join the probe after the High Court order. After a few hours of interrogation, Yuvi left for Chandigarh.
Dalit rights activist Rajat Kalsan filed a case against him in Hansi police station city under various sections of the SC-ST Act and IPC for his alleged objectionable statements against the Scheduled Castes.
Yuvraj had approached the High Court to rescind the case following which the High Court restrained the cops to take further action against him.
